Our History

Late 1990s

The idea for a children's museum in Columbus begins to take shape among community leaders and parents.

1998

A pilot museum opens at The Commons Centre, testing the concept and building community support.

October 1, 2005

KidsCommons opens its doors at 309 Washington Street in a renovated former J.C. Penney building, featuring multiple floors of interactive exhibits.

Today

KidsCommons serves thousands of children and families each year through exhibits, education programs, summer camps, and community events.
